Cheers Steve, PlusNet does look good as well.

Yeah, i'd heard that BT/NTL should be avoided. Luckily this list is giving 
some good recommendations ;-)

On the hardware front, I might just get a combo ADSL-modem/wireless-router and 
use my existing non-ADSL-router as an access point.
