I use a DG824M, which I believe is the predecessor to the above. It's
the biggest piece of junk I've ever had the misfortune to use (good job
it was free). It is currently doing something very odd, and despite 3
factory resets shows no sign of returning to normality. It's a real pain
and has meant (not for the first time) I've had to alter the way I do
things significantly just to accomodate its inadequacies. I also had
massive problems with a netgear wireless AP that didn't do what it says
in the literature. Perhaps I'm expecting too much, but their tech
support is useless too. Personally, I'll give Netgear a wide berth from
now on.

Just a different side to the story!

PS if anyone's interested, the very odd thing it's doing is as follows:

When incoming DNS requests come in from the net, they should be (and
were until lunch time today) forwarded to my server to answer.

For some unknown reason the router has now decided to forward everything
else properly (WWW / SMTP) but when it forwards the DNS requests in, it
NATs the *source* address of the request to be my WAN IP. So my server
now sees incoming DNS claiming to be from, well, me apparently, and
can't respond to whoever really sent the request.

Basically incoming DNS doesn't work any more and I've had to set up all
my stuff on zoneedit until I can find a solution!
