rdiff-backup for backing up (a lot) of servers to a few backup servers.
You'll find that 'dump' is seldom used these days. As for Amanda: it is
an excellent tool, but far from simple to set up. Unless you really need
its features, I'd suggest you stick with tar/rsync/rdiff-backup. The
latter is to be preferred (usually) because it allows you to keep some
history of changes. By comparison, if you're using rsync then you'll
only ever have the last version of the file that was backed up. Possibly
more importantly, if you use the --delete switch then loss of a file on
the client will remove that file from the backup too.
