Few wireless options will work "out of the box", there just tends to
be different levels of having to faff around a bit. I have two Ubuntu
6.06 boxes with Linksys WMP54G cards here at work (we were forced into
having an entirely wireless office by the monkeys who set up the
network for our parent company) and they were quite simple to set up,
and have been more reliable than the Windows boxes we all have to use.
There was an excellent howto on the Ubuntu forums which was
invaluable. The good thing about these cards are they're not that
expensive, I think we got them for about £15 a piece.
