I have a Brother MFC5440CN which works fine (scanner, printer & fax)
with Brother cups wrappers. It has both USB & ethernet interfaces and
supports the selective ring capability (only picks up the second number
that BT provide on the same line with a different ringtone). Note it
won't print monochrome faxes when one of the colour cartridges of ink
runs out though and evaporates ink during its cleaning cycle - cheapo
cartridges from printcartridgedirect.com in Wrexham.

The preview scan option with xsane using the document feeder is amusing.
