It's a safe bet the machine will be sold somewhere local like Cash
Generator rather than online. Does your friend have the serial numbers
for any of the hardware like the hard disk drive? Certain agencies are
known to be able to track stolen drives over the Internet as the serial
number is stored somewhere inside the drive itself, and the processors'
microcode would also store an ID code, so the police might be able to as
well. It's a long shot.Also, are there any sync/online backup programs
that automatically connect to a server? I doubt these will be disabled by
the person who has it now, and you could ask the server admins.
