Well that's interesting as I tried my HTC Desire with my netbook
(Samsung N130 running Ubuntu 11,04) both USB tethered and Wifi Hotspot
and could get neither to work...

Also, I have found Cyanogenmod rather... glitchy. LeeDroid seems VERY
good on my Desire, although all the bells and whistles it provides do
seem to sap power quicker (!). Shame Cyanogenmod was not good for me as
the battery life was very noticeably improved over others. Have recently
(today) installed an Oxygen rom... seems like a very nice and simple
android rom, which is what I am after in the quest for better battery
 life.

When are phone manufacturers going to realise that feature packed smart
phone are no use if the battery doesn't last?? I would happily have a
thicker phone if the battery life was to benefit.

They should offer optional larger battery packs... I bet there would be
 large sales of them.

Anyway... sorry, a bit off topic.
