[Swlug] Mint v Chromium

Colin,  Chromium comes up in the available software online store but not Chrome. I think it's the same thing and just as buggy as the Windows version. I already have Firefox and I use that for some of the stuff I do - it helps to separate some of my Google accounts. I use only work-related Google stuff on Firefox. The general stuff I've been doing on Chromium. 

My problem with Chromium is that it seems to be behind a lot of system freezes. I'm not sure what goes on but the longest it has been between hard resets is 3 weeks when I use Chromium a lot. 

Hibernation works well on Linux Mint. Unfortunately when Chromium is throwing wobblies it won't let me wake the laptop from hibernation within a sane amount of time so I end up having to do a hard reset, holding the power button down until the laptop powers off. 

Generally I'm happy with the setup though I'm feeling Chrome/Chromium has pretty much run its course. I'm wondering about Brave browser but I've not tried installing it.
