I suggest trying Chrome or Firefox, it may be Chromium that is causing
most of the problems.

As for the hibernation issue, if I remember correctly, hibernation has
been disabled in the default Ubuntu offering as it is not fully
reliable on all platforms.  How did you do a hard refresh to get it to
wake up?
