I followed the instructions on the page to the letter. Then I put the test program...
void setup() {                  pinMode(0, OUTPUT);      // LED on Model B  pinMode(1, OUTPUT);      // LED on Model A   }
void loop() {  digitalWrite(0, HIGH);   // Turn the LED on  digitalWrite(1, HIGH);  delay(1000);             // Wait for a second  digitalWrite(0, LOW);    // Turn the LED off  digitalWrite(1, LOW);   delay(1000);             // Wait for a second}[/code]
It seems something is still not quite right but I'm not sure how to fix this.
Sketch uses 718 bytes (11%) of program storage space. Maximum is 6012 bytes.Global variables use 9 bytes of dynamic memory.Running Digispark Uploader...Plug in device now... (will timeout in 60 seconds)Warning: device with unknown new version of Micronucleus detected.This tool doesn't know how to upload to this new device. Updates may be available.Device reports version as: 2.2
On top of this, of course, my laptop is beginning to get really slow. There're 11GB free of 60GB on an SSD. I bought some memory sticks today. When I get the energy to release them from their plastic prison I'll transfer everything from the downloads folder onto a stick and copy everything on the desktop and documents folder to a stick (plus a couple of things that mysteriously ended up in root). I should be ready for an upcoming meltdown.
I tried hard to get the software straight off the website and each time the files were different from those specified. In the end I used the Mint installer and got a good version of the IDE. I'm not sure what I was using before as this IDE looks to haveway more options. The old one was 20.0.4 or something like that but the one referenced on the website was 18~ as is the one I installed.
We have an advance anyway - Get Board Info can't find the board though.

In the light of day, I remembered lsusb and this seems to be a DigiSpark device.

I tried the syslog and it went on and on until I stopped it.
