The development focus shifted from valves to transistors to fet's and other specialist stuff. Then it shifted to ic's and is currently on CPU's and support stuff.

The earlier stuff is fairly static so a lot in those earlier references are still valid. As was said in those notes the issue is more about availiblity and especially future situations.

I bought a copy of The Transistor and Diode Data Book for Design Engineers by Texas Instruments. I suppose that if that proves insufficient I should maybe go ahead with printing spec sheets for all the stuff I have and putting it in my portable hanging file box or get myself some kind of eink ereader to read the PDFs.
