I have to agree. I like the very accurate name of my Geiger counter.
I'm pretty sure I'll be able to detect some radiation. I have a Tritium module on the way from China via eBay. At least I hope I do. I ordered some LM393 that haven't even shipped by the last date it should have been received and where the seller wouldn't just cancel or even respond. I suspect either a drop shipper or given that the account hadn't sold anything in 2 years, a compromised account. Similarly I have a box of mixed poly film capacitors on order that haven't shipped yet. Again - probably a drop-shipper or a fraudster.
I don't know what the radiation count from Tritium should be but I should be able to detect some. Background radiation should be 50-100 CPM. Tritium should give me an increase of an extra 0.6 CPM. That should be visible on the oscilloscope and will verify the firs stage of the Geiger counter before I get into putting the microcontroller on. Having said that, as it won't be here til April, I might well have completed the unit by then.
