No, it is not the amount of RAM that would make a difference, but the continued
use of RAM to keep an image displayed ... effectively reducing RAM bandwidth,
and since CPUs are faster than RAM anyway: RAM bandwidth is a limiting factor.
A graphics card will come with its own RAM to refresh from and would only need
to talk to the rest of the system when the display was being changed - I think.

To be truthful: I don't know how/if I could tell.
