Thank for your help. Is this the case with all distributions? It looks as if
it could suit my purposes quite well, particularly if one can set the
default delay short (2-3 seconds), which I would imagine one should be able
to do.

It just remains then to take a Ghost Image of my present setup (just in case
of the unforeseen!) and have a go, I suppose.

I would prefer it though if it were possible to have all three options in
one menu, I think. Or the Linux boot either from floppy or CD.
