Go to http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html to download a Linux 
distro you can run from CD without altering its filesystem at all. It's a 
boot-from-CD distro. Useful if you're tied to Windows but need to use 
Linux sometimes (or even all the time :-)
