SuSe won't write to NTFS?
SuSe 9.3 will write to NTFS, so I presume 10.0 will do as well.
I have been able to write to XP(NTFS) windows/system32 to install WinXP bits
there.
And then then work with the Windows system.
I find that with SuSe I can read/write/delete/modify any Windows (dos fat
to NTFS) file.
I use this method for data recovery.
I just stick the borrowed HD in the caddy, run up SUSe and I can grab any
file and burn it to a cd.
Linux can grab any windows (or dos) file.
The Data recovery PC is dual boot XP(NTFS program files, Saved work Fat32,
Windows swap NTFS, Linux swap and Reiserfs. There are several Reiserfs partitions.
GRUB boot loader.).
I do occasionally resort to Windows Nortons and always use windows Paartition
Majic 8.0. I am just too lazy to bother with SuSe Partitioneer or whatever
it is called.
I have been able to grab XP files with just a Knoppix CD and a USB pen drive.
Even DSL will do this.
You shouldn't have much of a problem.
The only real problem is one of security.
If you can run virtually any form of linux on a PC (or put the HD on a Linux
PC) ALL DOS to XP files are trivial to copy.
Linux sees everything, Microsoft doesn't even know that Linux is there!
