I think the tide is definitely turning. Just take a look here:-

All the workers using these PCs will have been finding out from the sys admins 
about what they're now using, and some of then will by now have installed 
Ubuntu on their home PCs and told their friends about it.

And I see that the OLPC project is now thinking of moving to ARM processors. I 
don't think XP runs on those.

The time could well be just about right to start doing publicity events in 
places such as the Central Library.
