IMHO the only way problems like these are going to get fixed is through
legislation. I see little point in moaning about it here. Spending an
hour writing a letter about it to your MP is I think time far better
spent. Do it properly - write or print it on paper and send it with a
stamp. You will get a reply.

The new MP in Swindon South does appear to be hearing what the people
say, so more letters would help reinforce the points I have made to him.
Maybe even get some action. One letter from one person makes little
impact, but many letters on the same subject carry much more weight. I
favour the concept of the naked PC, supplied with no operating system at
all with a choice at the checkout of, MS at, what, £100 or more? or
Linux for maybe a £3 CD duplication charge.
