I've not found this actually...  It actually does pagetable
software-emulation and usermode- code running 'natively'.

The Virtualization-extensions allow for more efficient hardware simulation
etc. but with the decent Virtualbox guest additions it really works
more than well enough anyway!  -- essentially they add a lot of 
paravirtualization calls etc. avoiding most of the
simulated-hardware-overhead where it matters...

What isn't well supported is 3D-accelerated-graphics in the virtual
machine.  Apparently VMware may do this well.
