I have a PS2 and a GameCube. PS2 has a Linux kit with
thriving Linux community, but I don't think the cube
has.

As for games PS2 has the vote for me - good selection,
good games, cheap platinum range and a generally
pretty cool machine.

The Pube has a more limited range of games, although
they look graphically much better than the PS2
bizarrely (it is supposed to be a lower spec system).

I vote you get the PS2 and then save up and get an
AIBO. ;)
