Hi All
I have been a member of the LUG list for some time but have not been
brave enough to join in.
Can anybody help me with a with a small project I have set myself as a
learning curve, I have a Digital Hinote Ultra II (Laptop) this has no
boot able CD-ROM however I do have a PCMCIA CD-ROM.
I would like to load Peanut Linux. I have got as far as making a Boot &
Root floppy and they have worked fine now comes the problem obviously I
need to get the rest of the installation files loaded, I did a raw-rite
using Mandrake CD.img and PCMCIA.img but these did not work.
What am I doing wrong? I should point out that I used the PC power
option for the PCMCIA CD-ROM. Should I have used the DC power?
Can someone talk me through the process step by step (like you would a
small child) even to the point of make sure so and so is turned on
first.
Pathetic I know but I am a newbie.
I currently have clone 3 X 40GB HDD PIII machine running dual boot
windows and Red Hat 9 connected to a 4 port HUB.
I did read in LXF43 about an NFS install now that looked OK to me I got
as far as "What driver should I use" panicked and gave up it would be
nice to have a step by step crib sheet for this option too.
I hope some one can spare the time to type the step by step process for
these two options in a language that a newbie can understand.
Thanking you in advance.
Pete
