 I would look at physical security of the machines. How did management gain
access in the first place ?
(I have a decoy machine on my desk for the night shift to play with.)
I think your best bet is to install as you say a firewall box to control the
access in and out of the union office. you could also then log any attempts.
Im sure that you get many segegstions for this problem, here at work I have
shown that sometimes the simplest methods are often the best.
