Sorry, should have been more specific - I've got a php page that emails 
a newsletter.
Argh, solved it! That bit of php is still running on my old webserver 
and emailserver - which hasn't had
its gateway updated since a recent change.
All new mail (apart from this) is going thru new server.

Thanks for you help, it got me thinking the right direction!
