Hi, sorry I've had to let this thread slide for a
while I've been away, ill and busy.

Just in case you installed grub to the hda1 (Windows
C:\>) boot sector like we thought I found this:

It may not be the answer to the problem but it's worth
a look.

I now have my own problems which I will be posting in
a few seconds.
