Hello,

A lot of good info has already been given here is my
stuff;

- You say you don't live in a cable area so that rules
out blueyounder which is good and ntl which is bad.

- You can have ntl feedom for non-cable area but they
are bad avoid them. Bad service etc.

- Go to http://www.broadbandchecker.co.uk then type in
your post code.

- Look at varous offers but avoid ntl freedom. You
can have bulldog which is fast, tiscalli which have 12
month contract but virgin don't. Virgin is good for
first time because as you learn more about broadband
you can dissconnect and choose what ever you want.

- When signing up watch out for those 'hidden
charges'. You may have to pay for a modem (although
most don't) or some may have a start-up fee.

- When getting a modem its best to request for a
ethernet based modem for linux. Some isp
will give away USB based modem which you should aviod
for linux. Some isp will have the
option for ethernet or usb some may not give you the
option. Its best to do what i have done. That is to
get a belkin wireless modem + router. This is
ethernet based modem with wirless router. Belkin is
ok, sometimes may need restarting but its ok.

If you need more details or info just reply and i
would get back to you.

Cheers

Bobby
