I'm a great believer in this type of community project and this one
seems to be on a sound 'open' footing. The last 2 I became interested in
were swallowed up by giants: upcoming.org(!) by Yahoo and MySpace (for
music) by Murdoch's News Corporation.
Shouldn't our Birmingham be in openguides.org.uk though? The people of
Alabama could get very confused by The Bull Ring. The openguides.org.uk
domain isn't even registered. Birmingham isn't mentioned on the UK index
page yet. Shouldn't the "release early, release often" principle apply here?
