As well at that, ...

"Vista was unable to recognize my Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g
mini-PCI card. SUSE 10.1, once I had installed the standard Linux
Intel Centrino support files -- ipw3945d v.1.7.18-5; microcode_ctl
updates; and the ipw-firmware for Centrino -- was up and networking in
a snap."

I can see the Gatesian fanboys having a lot of fun tearing that one to
shreds. All they'd need to do would be to point out that:

a) Vista is in Beta, and therefore not all drivers will be finished
yet, but you can bet they'll (the majority of drivers for newer
hardware at least) be available by launch.

b) The fact that wireless setup was a 'snap' after the (relative)
odyssey of getting Centrino to work doesn't alter the fact that it is
an odyssey compared to double-clicking on 'setup.exe' and clicking
'Next' a few times. That is, if you even need to do that in the final
version of Vista.

Personally I think we're better off pointing out that:

Will almost certainly /never/ happen to you if you use Linux. :)
