I just did an upgrade to Dapper. It was almost scuppered by a lack of
space. I've got Ubuntu, Kubuntu & Xubuntu desktops installed, and the
6.5GB root partition choked on login.

I know about clearing /tmp; I know about clearing
/var/cache/apt/archives. Any other places where a spring clean might
make some more space? And does removing xubuntu-desktop have any
knock-on, considering my PC thinks it's booting Xubuntu in the splash
screen?
