I've upgraded to the latest firmware, I certainly wouldn't call the
Netgear DG834GT rock solid. This is the first time I've had it connected
to a an 8 Mbit line, given the number of people complaining I've
concluded so far that it was a Tiscali problem. However, given your
experience, I'm leaning much more toward the router or both router and
line.

I'll update the thread when I find out more.
