Indeed, MySQL is and has always been under the GPL. Anybody is free to
fork it, if Oracle sink their fangs in.

Even so, I really can't raise th energy to care. I'd quite like it if
MySQL faded into irrelevancy, because PostgreSQL would replace it and
that would be a Good Thing.
