Technically the week before a marathon you should be tapering and
should have last done a 20 miler last weekend at the latest but I have
a solution for you to get your buzz on and do this without ruining
your mara prep :)

Cycle to Brum (nice high cadence to save the legs) and lock up at the
Broad St Basin.

Run along the tow path towards Wolverhampton. Watch your step in the
Coseley tunnel I turned an ankle in there running. About a mile from
the city centre (Horsely Fields) there is a junction to the Essington
and Wyrley canal (the Curley Wurley) take this. Run about a mile
along here and just after the railway crosses the canal there is an
exit which takes you to the venue.

The route is almost exactly a half marathon (it's almost the route for
the Birmingham and Black Country half in reverse) and is perfectly
runnable surface for 99% of the time (some hard concrete sections as
you near Wolverhampton and some that can be muddy near Dudley.

After the even catch the train to Brum.

There you go. I've planned your training and got you to the event ;)
