I've no experience with BT4 but with it being the type of distro
described it is probably normal to log in as root.  This is extremely
unusual for other normal desktop distro's though.  But, I don't go
into the whole gnashing teeth and wailing about root log ins that some
do out there.  Sometimes it's just easier to do things by root than su
or sudo.  Linux is about choice after all and I choose to have the
right to use root if I really need to :-)  it's rare though to be
honest ;-)
