Hi Adam,

In my experience, the easiest way to boost the signal is to reduce the speed. If you're only using it for internet (and not pc-to-pc file transfers) you could try 11MB/s. You can usually set this in the router config. If not, maybe you can tweak on your PC. 

I found that in my ex's house (solid stone walls) this increased the signal strength in the worst room from ~25% to ~75%. Stone walls contain a fair bit of water (even when not "damp") and that's what impairs the signal.
