That is not true. I used Ubuntu for years on my media centre and on my netbook for a time. Ubuntu desktop is (for the minute) one of the slickest Linux operating systems out there. What I am not a fan of is the Canonical nee Ubuntu smoke and mirrors bullshit. :-)
