There is a distinct odour of marketing about this, that's for sure. Not
sure that close ties to MS, historically, have a particularly positive
community effect.

There is obviously a marketplace, beyond "look how clever we are" and
click bait, unfulfilled by VMs that both parties hope for a slice of. It
smells more of click bait than otherwise though.

For interests of impartiality, declaring myself mostly a non-bunty.
