I've got no copy of the message above and frankly am baffled by the
"we may also have no-one to open up the room".

The last email I sent to Dave last monday, _confirmed_ that I _could_ open 
up the room. But did warn him that that there was an outside chance of 
problems (I have 3 german students staying with me at the moment). I
would have contacted him and Mark _if_ a problem had arisen.

My view, is that if no one volunteers to do a short talk, then it'd be 
best to just go down the pub. Though, I'm happy to open up if people want
the chance to chat.
