Could we have a bit of a history re: the issues for the newcomers to the
list?
Is it just a case of having an appointed first aider/fire warden around
and notifying security, or more complicated issues?
I don't think it's fair that we keep expecting Mark to open/close up for
us - and having to check the situation each month is another step that
gets in the way of organising everything.
(Speaking of which, I haven't heard any definite response either way on
whether we've got access to the room on Monday -- teething problems of
this new collaborative approach ;) . I've got the website announcement
all set to go when I hear one way or the other. Mark?)
I propose that if we can, with a little effort, meet the uni's H&S
requirements then we should set up a more long-term arrangement
regarding opening/closing - not forcing it onto Mark all the time and
not having to discuss it on an adhoc basis each month. I realise I
don't know all the history/difficulties but I don't think this is out of
the question for us.
If we can't meet the uni's requirements, then we need to find a new
venue ASAP because I don't think this sense of uncertainty is doing the
group any favours. It would be much better to find a new venue before
we're kicked out too. I'm happy to coordinate this if needs be.
I think the website stuff is a whole different issue - and I suspect
somewhat easier to solve.
