Damion Yates, BBC Internet Services
A brief description of the BBC Internet and digital TV infrastruture;
where Linux has been chosen in the BBC in general, and why Linux was
chosen in the BBC specifically for Digital TV and the Internet.
Some interesting projects we're working on using Linux and UNIX.
Damion has asked me to install realplayer on the presentation machine,
which I have done.
16 September 2000, 14:00, usual place (as above).
The Dolphin WulfKit
Chris Scotford, Dolphin Interconnect
This will be two presentations, one about Dolphin hardware
(high speed, low latency SCI interconnect tecnology) and one about
Scali software (tuned MPI supercomputer and configuration software).
The combination produces a particularly powerful Beowulf cluster,
yielding high performance at low cost.
See http://www.wulfkit.com/ and http://www.scali.com/ for more
information about these companies and their products.
