ANNOUNCE: York Linux Users' Group (YLUG) presents
*Firewalling with Linux and IPTables*
Dr. Arthur Clune
Systems Security Advisor
Computing Services
University of York
This talk looks at how to design a good firewall, using IPTables as
the vehicle. Starting with a discussion of the different of network
protocols and their differences, it moves onto firewalling a single
machine (including detecting scans and out-of-spec packets), designing
and implementing a gateway machine to protect a group of other
machines and concludes with a (very) brief look at some of the more
unusual things IPTables can do.
Date: Tuesday 26th February 2002 and starting at 7 PM sharp.
Location: PL002, Physics Building, University of York as usual.
Free admission, all are welcome.
See http://york.lug.org.uk/map.html for how to find us or
