If anyone else is after little PC's like this, I can recommend Microdirect.
They are based in Manchester, and do a number of differently spec set builds.
The cheapest of which is £199+vat, and is a 1.6GHz Duron, 256MB DDR, 40Gig
HDD, on-board nic/video/sound, crappy modem, desktop case, floppy, and
52Xsomethingsomething CDRW/DVD. And NO microsoft tax! No OS available at all.
Had no need/wish/ability to test the modem, but everything else should be
linux friendly (VIA chipset, so via-rhine nic, can't remember sound/video off
hand). Most have come with K7SOM+, or similar cheap mini-atx boards.
I've been buying them for all our new starters, and testing machines.

I only know of them because a support guy in our Manchester office went to uni
there, and MD have an outlet on campus.
