Afternoon All,

I'm not generally too much in favour of running Windows apps on Linux,
because I think the opposite approach of finding native apps to replace
your Windows ones is better.

One exception is IE if you're doing web dev work, because you kind of
have to make sure your work looks OK in the world's worst web browser.
Like it or not, if your site looks broken in IE, then 90% of the rest of
the world will think it's broken and blame you.

I've never managed to get IE to work properly without a Windows
partition, but a chap up at Durham Uni has, and he's produced an
auto-install shell script. You just build Wine and run the script. It's
magic.

It specifies the 20031212 snapshot, but it worked OK for me with the
20040408 snapshot too.

Hope this is useful to some Wyluggers, it's saved me from having to
resort to the horrendously bloated VMWare, and means I have an extra
free port on my KVM now.
