they are pretty well organised.

I have the SA whitelisting enabled, which seems to work reasonably well.

If you move to a TDMA type system make sure you appropriately exclude
your subscribed mailing lists from filtering.  With the current spam hit
on the submission interfaces I am certainly not inclined to spend time
jumping through spam filtering enabling hoops to get list mail to
people, so TDMA style confirmation requests are treated just like bounce
messages - ie more than a couple and you get unsubscribed.
