It the page ½ or 1/8 of its original width? If so, this is likely
(internal) problem with the input data format. For example, if I
input my image as 1-bit monochrome, but the driver thinks it's 8-bit
greyscale, it will be compressed horizontally by a factor of eight.
The same applies to 32-bit CMYK vs 8-bit RGB etc. Gimp-Print had a
bug like this a year or so back under certain unusual conditions.
Please do take the time to file a bug against hpijs, either with hpijs
or your distribution's hpijs package. This will get the problem
fixed.
