[Wylug-discuss] Setup fest?

Hello.

I've been running GNU/Linux (Red Hat 9) for perhaps a year now and am struggling to do pretty much anything beyond using Mozilla. Even using books such as Linux for Dummies I am still unable to:

reliably mount and unmount CD drive;
burn CDs;
listen to the radio.

I'd also like to be able to do other basic stuff such as:
use a text editor such as Emacs to manage e-mail (I don't much like Evolution);
upload digital camera images.

At the moment, I have to boot Windows to do all the above, which is less than ideal!

I know that you periodically do install-fests. Do you have any plans to offer "Linux basics" days? I for one would really appreciate a series of say two or three Saturdays during which GNU/Linux experts help me get to grips with my computer!

Thanks
David
