The register has this story of how MS is subverting the system again.

I for one am disgusted, but not really surprised.

As I have 2 kids already going to a specialist "Maths & Computing
School" with 2 more to follow, this is an area I have a interest in. I
also use both MS and open source products (best tool for the job etc.)
The tactics I don't like.

What can us mere mortals do ?

supposedly owned by the school (I registered it because the school
advertised the site on letterheads etc. but failed to claim the address
- that's how specialist they are at the moment!)
