So the answer is to Save As first, before saving as a template?  OK - 
that's no problem.

Hmm - I see this even with a new template that I haven't even opened.  I 
wonder if it's related to the fact that when I open the folder for a 
template I see something like

filename.png filenametn.png

and the second one appears to be a thumbnail.

Thanks.  I'd missed that page.  While browsing, though, I was delighted 
to come across the how-to on the wiki for printing booklets with 
kprinter.  That's a real hidden gem, since it works for just about any 
app.
