I've been using a rather neat DTP package called Scribus which is a fine 
argument for not having to buy either a Win box and Corel (or equivalent)
or the less awful alternative of buying a Mac and using Quark or one of the 
many alternative commercial DTP packages

Its much better than trying to frig publication layouts with Word or O-Office 
and better then KWord which tries to do some of the same things

I'd be happy to do 15 mins on the fine art of DTP and equally happy to squash 
anyone who tried to persuade me to use TEX or LATEX instead
