[1] I've dug up notes that suggest adding a '.c.o' rule to the Makefile
is a good idea if cross compiling. You'll need to install a) microperl
and b) lib/* manually as well, of course (where lib/* becomes what's
available via @INC)

[2] I've not checked the lastest version. Previously I found perl/linux
didn't boot properly due to missing device nodes in the file system
(presumably I'd not been root at build time, and this didn't raise an
error) ... though ISTR it worked as a chroot environment.
