  I agree, that's totally non-obvious. As an habitual
'screen' user, I work without the menus on; it was
therefore necessary to go context>settings>configure
shortcuts, to find:

	ctrl-alt-m	[restores and*] opens the menu
	ctrl-alt-n	opens a new session
