Thanks for that.  I'll follow it up this morning.  As for Windows, once
I've got the Linux backup sorted I'll look at that possibility -
although at the moment FBackup is backing up the most important stuff
to the Linux server, so the Linux backup may be enough.  Decisions,
decisions..... :-D

I'm really only concerned with its backup capabilities for the moment.
 I'll look at other possibilities later - nothing else is urgent.  I'm
very concerned, though, that the disks in the server are now almost 4
years old, so getting a backup away from here seems important.  Also,
the fire hazard is greater in this garden office (not great, though),
and the idea that a backup could be in the flat, remote from here, is
a big incentive.
